Changes in school boundary lines

Schools are always a hot topic when people consider moving. Currently, the city is renovating the old Lincoln High school building in the Wallingford neighborhood, which will reopen in fall of 2019. Lincoln is expected have an initial capacity of 1,600 students. Due to the addition of Lincoln, the Seattle Public School board is planning to readjust the high school boundaries, with an expected impact on the Ballard neighborhood.  As of now, Ballard High School currently serves kids living in the Ballard, Magnolia and Queen Anne neighborhoods. The changes which have been implemented to accommodate the mass growth in the city in the last decade, has created quite a bit of friction among parents in previous years. Below is a link to the Seattle Public School website where you can find more information on the proposed school boundaries. A final decision is expected in the next few weeks.
